| Abstract: | The objective of this article is to analyze the African world view and how it affects our understanding of health: the African concept of disease and healing, the role of the supernatural world, evil spirits, and witches in healing, ill health and cure in traditional culture. An attempt is made to look at various perceptions of ill health and healing among diverse African societies. It also looks at the modes of healing and the challenges that traditional practitioners face. |
