The main objective of this study was to enhance teachers’ skills in the use of Role-play technique to develop speaking skills at Dalun R/C Basic schools. This has become necessary following pupils inability to communicate well in the English language. For this reason, teachers were trained on how to use role-play to develop speaking skills. Population for the study was made of teachers of Dalun R/C basic schools. The study employed action research design and it was done in three faces; the pre-intervention, intervention, and post intervention. The instruments used for the data collection were observation, questionnaire, and interview. The purposive sampling technique was used to select sample size of twenty four teachers out of thirty-eight for the study. These teachers were trained on effective use of role-play technique to develop pupils speaking skills at Dalun R/C basic schools. The results obtained from these instruments were put into tables and textual narratives. The results of the post-intervention lesson indicated a significant improvement in the way the teachers implement the role-play technique. The researcher recommended teachers of Dalun R/C Basic schools to further invest in self or personal development to capacitate themselves with skills and knowledge of using a wide range of child-centred teaching methods, strategies, and principles that can enhance pupils speaking skills.en_US
